Well, Hello There!

I’ve been looking forward to doing a blog for awhile now. No time like the present, eh?

The one thing I don’t want to do is limit myself, so this isn’t a blog about politics, philosophy, or any particular topic. This blog is about my meditations. It might be a news story of the day, it might be a random thought that pops into my head, that’s part of the excitement, yes?

I look forward to your thoughts as well. I appreciate discussions. I encourage passion, disagreement, opposing viewpoints. Civility is an expectation, and a requirement. If you can’t be civil, don’t post. I’ll remove you, and not lose a wink of sleep.

A little bit about myself. I served 12 years in the Army Reserves. I was an educator for 29 years, and now I am an insurance adjuster, helping current service members, veterans and their families. I’ve been married for nearly 32 years to the love of my life, Robin. She is the subject of many future blog posts, to be sure.

I have two daughters, Jessica and Carole. I’m proud of both of them. So far. I’m blessed with a son-in-law, who loves my daughter, and is a good father to my two grandsons Roman and Stevie.

I have Crohn’s Disease. It’s not fun, what with multiple surgeries, drug therapies and the daily shit show that is Crohn’s. Pun intended. But it is what it is, and there’s naught I can do about it but abide. I’m not a Crohn’s sufferer, I’m a person with Crohn’s. There is a difference

So there it is, with more to come.

I look forward to the journey.
